 Thursday, December 14, 2017: Trauma Informed Schools | 3:00 - 6:30 PM | LOCATION: 600 East 4th Street, Chaska Government Center. Enter through Door 1, Town Hall Room, 2nd Floor | Children impacted by mental health and trauma are present in every classroom. This impact on students can affect their ability to engage in classroom activities, follow instructions, develop relationships, and comply with school rules. Childhood trauma affects students’ ability to learn, and they are two and a half times more likely to be placed in a special education program. Participants will learn how developmental trauma: impacts students’ ability to learn; manifests itself in the classroom setting; relates to overall mental health; can be addressed by schools meeting the needs of affected students. COST: $45.00 Cash or checks made payable to SWMetro accepted.  TECH TUESDAY, January 9: Netiquette | 3:30 - 4:30 PM | LOCATION: Shakopee Town Square, 1150 Shakopee Town Square Mall, Shakopee, MN 55379 | Get a grasp on the different "rules" on how to  communicate with certain audiences online. Explore digittal etiquette ad well as cyber scams and how to keep students safe online.

 January 29 & 30, February 26 & March 5, 2018: Adaptive Schools Foundations Training | 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM each date | LOCATION: Holiday Inn Express 4550 12th Ave E, Shakopee, MN 55379 | Participants will learn practical frameworks for creating collaborative groups that bring collective responsibility for student learning. Please register teams of 3-5 administrators, teacher leaders, district personnel who conduct meetings and manage work teams. COST: $700.00 (Includes Learning Guide).  TECH TUESDAY, February 13: Twitter | 3:30 - 4:30 PM \ LOCATION: RVEC, 100 Hope Avenue, Jordan, MN 55352 | Social media can be distracting and a nuisance - unless you know hoe to properly wield it. Harness the power of Twitter in education settings during this workshop.

 Thursday, February 22, 2018: What Every Educator Needs to Know About Section 504 | 1:00 - 4:30 PM | LOCATION: Holiday Inn Express 4550 12th Ave E, Shakopee, MN 55379 | In the first hour of this session Laura will discuss the basics of Section 504 and practical applications of the law for students with disabilities. Detailed written materials will also be provided. At the close of the session, she will review select cases from the last year as well as answer questions you may have.  TECH TUESDAY, March 13: GOOGLE Basics | 3:30 - 4:30 PM | LOCATION: 401 Building, 401 East 4th Street, Chaska, MN 55318 | Docs, Drives, and Forms, OH MY! Mentally download the basics of what Google has to offer in your classroom, including live documents and shared folders, designed for collaboration.
