I am Tracee Klehr and this is my first year at SWMetro.

Being a teacher comes from the heart… It is the love of learning.

Teaching found me! I was a substitute teacher for a private school and that is when I realized I wanted to make a difference in children's lives and education. For me, teaching is more than reading and math. It is building relationships with my students by getting to know more about their day-to-day lives and it is also the students knowing I care for each of them. I hold them accountable for their own actions and I challenge them to work hard at everything they do.

This will be my 16th year teaching - my first 13 years were at Shakopee Area Catholic School (preschool; 3rd grade and 5th grade) and the last 2 years were at Jordan Middle School (5th through 8th grade). I received my bachelors degree from the University of Wisconsin Eau Claire; then received my masters degree from St Mary's University; and just recently, I received my principal licensure from the University of St Thomas.

My husband, Mike, and I were born and raised in Shakopee and we just celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary. We have 3 children: Matt (23), Mya (21) and Mason (17), and our 2 dogs, Copper and Jet. We love to travel, go to the cabin and work on projects around the house.

I am so excited to be a teacher at the Anicca Program in Chanhassen and I am looking forward to a terrific school year.
