After months of fundraising and rallying, the inclusive Sensory Playground at River Valley Education Center has broken ground. Beginning in the early days of November, crews were preparing the site for slides, climbers, drums, and other bright equipment, designed for students of all abilities.

Gary Dohse's YouthBuild program recently completed a storage renovation project at East Creek Family Center in Chaska. In addition to building a storage room, the students also built a wall enclosing an area under the grand staircase in the entry space of the building. The wall is painted with "dry erase" paint, making the entire surface an area for creative collaboration.

Together, they toggled the keys of a brailler as Paige, Beth's guide dog, sat nearby. Suddenly, filing into the room were coworkers, Special Ed administrators, and her husband, all preceded by WCCO's Kim Johnson, her microphone, and her camera operator.
