SouthWest Metro serves students in 11 member districts and 4 associate member districts across the southwestern Twin Cities metropolitan area with programs in Special Education, Career and Technical Education, Care &. Treatment, Adult Basic Education, and Alternative Education.

The purpose of the Backstretch Community Garden Club is to strengthen the community through shared gardening experiences, providing learning opportunities for students, grow produce for food donations, while maintaining assigned and community growing spaces located on the property.

COVID-19 Updates
Coronavirus Update - April 23, 2020
Gov. Tim Walz has extended distance learning through June 30, 2020. "As previously planned, student instruction will not be held on May 1 and May 4. These days will remain as planning days to prepare for the remainder of the school calendar year in a distance learning environment. School-age care for children of critical workers will still operate on those days, unless these were previously-scheduled non-school days."

COVID-19 Updates
Coronavirus Update - March 25, 2020
Governor Walz announced today that all Minnesota school districts, including SouthWest Metro Intermediate District, will implement distance learning plans beginning on Monday, March 30, 2020. Distance learning will continue through at least April 30, 2020. The Governor has also issued an order for all residents of Minnesota to Shelter in Place for two weeks beginning at midnight on Friday, March 27th.
